The petition's popularity is rising, but there are many who claim they do not want another election . . . however Parliament will now be forced to debate it very soon

A petition to hold an immediate General Election has hit a whopping 350k – leaving MPs no choice but to consider it via a debate. Having only just reached 137k yesterday, the popularity of the petition on the Government's website has shot up in the last 24 hours. ‌

The appeal, started by a woman called Nicola Cree, urges supporters who back the view "we want an immediate general election to be held” to sign it – just one year after Labour romped home at the last election. ‌

And it simply states: “We want an immediate general election to be held. We think the majority need and want change.” ‌
