People living on a Kent housing estate say they have been battling sewage problems for 16 years.

Those living in Kingswear Gardens in Strood have also complained about a lack of communication with the not-for-profit housing association Orbit, which manages the homes.

Despite paying an annual service charge of £2,736, they believe repairs are carried out as cheaply as possible, and that the process for reporting them is "deliberately" frustrating.

The issues include regular blockages in downstairs bathrooms, which often lead to sewage leaking into gardens and backing up through sinks, as well as serious leaks from upstairs bathrooms into kitchens, causing appliances to short-circuit.
