A keynote address by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian Rick Atkinson on Oct. 10 will launch the 12th-annual Morristown Festival of Books , one of the largest festivals of its kind in the northeastern U.S.

Atkinson, who recently consulted with Ken Burns for the award-winning filmmaker's upcoming documentary, "The American Revolution," will discuss his latest book, "The Fate of the Day: The War for America, Fort Ticonderoga to Charleston, 1777-1780," which debuted as the No.1 New York Times nonfiction best seller in May.

The festival's keynote speakers typically sell out the 1,300-seat Mayo Performing Arts Center on Friday night prior to a full day of free festival activities throughout town on Saturday. This year's list of author appearances and talks has not yet been
