SIDMAN , Pa. – Confusion over the use of the extra hitter in the first year of the rule impacted Wednesday’s All American Amateur Baseball Association Tournament game between Altoona-1 Cumming Motors and Cleveland at Forest Hills Junior-Senior High School.

The game went under protest before the top of the fifth inning when Cleveland reliever Lucas Shaffert injured his shoulder warming up. Second baseman Owen Torrnow moved to pitcher, while extra hitter Curtis Maier replaced Torrnow at second. ×
