STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Mariners Harbor, which shut down in early July, will soon be operating under new management. The fast-food restaurant, known for its spicy fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits, has recently posted signs at 2363 Forest Ave. announcing it is hiring.

The Popeyes location at Roman Plaza first opened in 2022 , serving as a drive-through option in the sprawling new complex.

The shopping center is also home to a Burger King and a former Taco Bell that has since been converted into a Peruvian restaurant called La Criolla at 451 Northfield Ave. The South American sit-down spot serves assorted ceviche, Pollo a la Braza, a succulent rotisserie chicken, and chicharron sandwiches served with copious fries.
