Three wins in three days.
That is how Gate City’s Carter Wolfe has opened the high school golf season as he finished first at Thursday’s Bill Woodford Classic at Wytheville Golf Club.
Wolfe won the Farmers & Miners tournament on Tuesday in Jonesville and tied for first with Abingdon’s Davis Cook in a tri-match on Wednesday at Glenrochie Country Club.
Wolfe shot a 66 on Thursday as he beat Marion’s Brady White by one stroke on the individual leaderboard. George Wythe’s David Goode and Harris Camp of Hidden Valley each fired a 68.
Marion finished second in the team standings with a total of 300, three shots behind winner Blacksburg.
White, Campbell Sayers (72), Camden Wilcox (79) and Xander Gates (83) had the top four scores for the Scarlet Hurricanes.
