GRAND FORKS – After anticipating a round of severe weather going into Thursday evening and Friday morning, the National Weather Service in Grand Forks is still eyeing the possibility of more stormy weather throughout the day on Friday.

Damaging winds, tornadoes and hail are possible throughout Friday, but there remain questions as to how the storms will evolve overnight. As of Thursday evening, Grand Forks and its neighboring counties in North Dakota and Minnesota were predicted to receive “isolated to scattered” severe storms Friday.

“We are continuing to look at this uncertain, evolving timeframe,” NWS meteorologist Jim Kaiser said.

Hazards like golf ball-sized hail and tornadoes are possible, but damaging winds are the “primary threat.”
