A couple were left utterly "devastated" after their near £18,000 win on Gala Bingo turned out to be a technical glitch, resulting in their winnings being voided.

Sarah Nicole Thurgood, 49, and her husband Mark, 56, believed they had hit the jackpot with a "life-changing" sum during an online bingo game on Monday.

But their joy was short-lived as their accounts were suspended within hours, their balances cleared, and they were told the significant wins were erroneous.

The couple, from Chichester, West Sussex, were among numerous players who thought they had won big, only to have their dreams dashed due to a technical mishap.
