AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Texas Panhandle Pet Savers is participating in NBC’s Clear the Shelters initiative to get adoptable pets into their forever homes throughout August.

Texas Panhandle Pet Savers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the goal of reducing the number of pets euthanized in the Amarillo area. The organization adopts cats and dogs from the local city shelter, while also taking in strays that have been surrendered, and helps the pets find a loving and welcoming home.

“We provide them a safe environment,” Mia Wilke, TPPS secretary, said. “We are foster-based, so they come home with us every week. We provide them a safe, loving environment, let them get all the love and attention they need, and make sure they're ready and adoptable.”
