On today’s 2nd-year observance of Hawaii’s most devastating wildfire disaster, Maui residents are invited to come together for Kuhinia Maui, events honoring memories of loved ones lost and the community’s resiliency:

>> Morning paddle out, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Hanaka‘o‘o Beach Park, West Maui. Speakers, prayers and music on shore as paddlers return at 11 a.m. Shuttle service begins at 7 a.m.; vehicle parking at the Lahaina Civic Center.

>> Memorial gathering, noon to 12:45 p.m., Kalana o Maui (county building), Wailuku, honoring those affected by the wildfires. Reservations requested: kuhiniamaui.org.

>> Evening tribute, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Lahaina Civic Center. Remembrance and fellowship (no media). Reservations, information: kuhiniamaui.org .
