KILLINGLY, Conn. (WTNH) — A man charged in the October 2023 death of a visiting nurse in Willimantic is expected to appear in court on Friday morning for a pre-trial hearing.

Joyce Grayson, 63, was killed during a medical appointment for a convicted rapist and registered sex offender, Michael Reese, at a halfway house on Oct. 28, 2023, on Chapman Street in Willimantic. He was her first appointment of the day.

Officials said Grayson was found in the home’s basement, strangled with multiple blunt force injuries.

Reese was charged with murder and attempted first-degree sexual assault in this case.
