CASTLETON, Vt. (NEWS10)-- The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the killing of 77-year-old Honoree Fleming of Castleton. Fleming was fatally shot on October 5, 2023, on the Delaware and Hudson Rail Trail.

According to troopers, reports have led investigators to a double homicide out of Arkansas. Troopers said when investigators learned of the case and the arrest of a suspect, detectives contacted investigators to discuss the case.

However, Vermont State Police said there is no known link between the suspect in the Arkansas to the Honoree Fleming investigation or to Vermont.

State Police said they follow up with any potential lead, whenever it might arise. In the months following Fleming's death, police received more than 200 tips on a suspect. Officials released a sketc
