WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Massachusetts' annual tax-free weekend is back, and you might find a good deal or two.

The tax-free weekend is August 9th and 10th. For these two days, most items will have no sales tax.

From a Massachusetts tradition to becoming a legal requirement in 2018, this weekend, most personal purchases, 6.25% sales tax, won't be collected. The tax-free holiday is a time for businesses to boost their sales and bring in new customers looking to save money.

All retailers open this weekend are required to take part in the holiday. So those sunglasses you were eyeing at the mall could be a good time to get them.

Some items do not qualify, like alcohol, cars, gas, electricity, tobacco, marijuana, or anything over $2,500 dollars.
