ATLANTA — A man accused of shooting two MARTA officers at the Five Points station on Thursday night was arrested in Guntersville, Alabama, according to a MARTA spokesperson on Friday afternoon.
Two MARTA police officers were hurt late Thursday after a confrontation with a man at the Five Points station in downtown Atlanta that turned into a shooting, authorities said.
According to MARTA Police Chief M. Scott Kreher, the suspect was 26-year-old Christopher Daniels.
The incident began around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, when two MARTA police officers spotted a man urinating near a platform inside the station, according to MARTA officials. Police said the man refused to cooperate, and when officers attempted to handcuff the man, the man pulled out a gun and fired several rounds.
