A building permit has been issued by the City of Owen Sound for the partially constructed site across from the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.

Bayshore Terrace is the restart of a previously stalled development, located at 297 18th Street East.

The city says that the green light for the project is an exciting step forward for the community.

Bayshore Terrace was originally approved in 2018, and some work began the following year and then stopped. Last year, it was acquired by a new owner (Graham Design & Construction).

It is expected to be comprised of 30 life-lease residential units in a four-storey structure.

The city says that some preliminary work has already begun on the existing structure, with full construction expected to begin soon.
