HOUSTON – Houston police have shut down the southbound lanes of Gulf Freeway after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle early Friday morning.

It happened around 3 a.m. on I-45 S near Lockwood and Telephone Road.
Details are limited, as it’s an active investigation, so it’s unclear how many vehicles hit the pedestrian or why they were on the freeway.
HPD confirmed the southbound lanes have been shut down at Spur 5 and are expected to remain closed while officers conduct their investigation.
