MID-HUDSON – Some 250 cyclists are pedaling throughout the Hudson Valley this week en route to Brooklyn participating in the five-day Hudson Valley Bike Tour.
On Thursday the two wheelers converged on Putnam County spending the late afternoon and evening at the Putnam Veterans Memorial Park in Kent.
Cycle the Hudson Valley incorporated a 240-mile trek from Hudson through Putnam on the tour’s journey to the Brooklyn Bridge.
Cyclists originated from 25 states and Canada traveling between 30 to 60 miles each day.
Tour director Rob Panzera described biking as a “lifetime activity. Our oldest participant is 88 while the youngest is 12. The average age of those participating is 65.”
