GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Back to school is around the corner and that means backpack giveaways are in full swing in North Central Florida.

Leaders with the North Central Florida Community Center along with several community sponsors plan to lighten the load by giving away 300 backpacks filled to the brim.

“It is a pop up pull up so we’re going to pop up and we’re going to pop up and we’re going to give out probably over 300 bags to Alachua’s County’s youth and neighbors and families that come to the center, and they can pull up and get a bag filled with school supplies before school goes back. Te’sha Jackson, business owner, said.

Jackson has been doing community outreach for 8 years in Marion County. She just completed a giveaway there last Sunday and is excited to expand to Alachua
