CHICAGO (WGN) — A crash on the city's South Side overnight left a motorcyclist dead.

According to Chicago police, the crash unfolded around 10 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Dorchester Avenue, in Hyde Park.

Officers said the motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man, was heading west along 53rd when he disregarded a traffic signal and crashed into a westbound sedan as it navigated through the intersection.

The motorcyclist suffered severe injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the sedan and two other passengers were also taken to the hospital, where they were listed in good condition.

Authorities have not yet identified the motorcyclist killed and say no citations were issued following the crash.
