PIKETON, OH — Jack Galloway, a dedicated Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth (FBP) employee, is celebrating a remarkable 50 years of service at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant , a site he’s called his workplace since 1975.
Galloway’s career began when Goodyear Atomic Corporation hired him as a janitor. Over the past five decades, he has risen through the ranks and now serves as a utility distribution operator at the Piketon facility, overseeing critical systems that help keep the plant running smoothly.
“It’s challenging, hard work, but I enjoy the people I work with,” Galloway said. Among his favorite duties is working on steam lines, where timing is everything. “You have to know when to close the valves at the right time when the steam blows out.”
