The Texas heat will remain strong through the weekend. While Friday afternoon highs will hold just short of 100, it will feel every bit of triple digits with the heat index between 105-109. This has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Heat Advisory through Friday afternoon.
For the weekend, hot and muggy weather will be the rule. Highs will be in the upper 90s with a heat index as high as 105. No rain is expected.
Expect mostly dry weather into next week as an upper-level ridge of high pressure stays in control. However, there is some slight hope for a brief chance of isolated thunderstorms Monday night or Tuesday as the upper level ridge weakens slightly. Stay tuned.
