GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Metro Fire Department says three vehicles were damaged by a car fire overnight.
The fire department was called to Rothe St. on the city’s east side at midnight Friday. Witnesses reported explosions, but a battalion chief says they likely heard the tires exploding from the heat.
The initial fire spread to two nearby cars. One car was a total loss; the others had significant damage but may be repairable.
The fire didn’t spread to any structures since the cars were parked far enough away.
Firefighters were on the scene for a little over an hour.
The cause and origin of the fire aren’t known yet.
