The Lamar Little League team is on its way to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to compete in the Little League World Series after winning the Southwest Regional in Waco on Tuesday.

The 12-year-old team defeated Louisiana to earn its spot in the prestigious tournament. KPRC 2 Sports Director Randy McIlvoy was in Sugar Land overnight for the team’s early-morning sendoff, which drew family, friends, and supporters to an H-E-B parking lot around 3:15 a.m.
