A call about a disturbance turned into an arrest after a Winter Haven woman repeatedly refused to cooperate with a responding deputy.
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A disturbance call in Jan Phyl Village on Wednesday evening took an unexpected turn, leading to the arrest of a 39-year-old woman for misusing 911.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Alisha Burns called 911 at approximately 6:55 p.m. to report a disturbance with another parent regarding a child bullying incident. A deputy arrived at her residence within five minutes to assist.
The deputy first spoke with the other party involved before attempting to get information from Burns. However, Burns reportedly refused to cooperate, standing silently as the deputy tried to gather details about the incident.
