FAIRLEA W.Va. (WVDN) – A trip to the State Fair of West Virginia allows people to check out agricultural exhibits, carnival rides and entertainment.

This year, attendees can also have their health checked out while they’re at the fair.

Vandalia Health CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center residents are offering free A1C and lipid screenings at the West Virginia State Fair through Aug. 16.

A1C is a blood test measuring blood glucose levels which helps doctors diagnose prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. A lipid screening blood test measures levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood.

Visitors can find the mobile medical unit on Blue Ribbon Drive near the agriculture and livestock area, open daily from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
