Frank Lampard has opened up on Luis Binks' sale to Brondby as Coventry City continue to push for a replacement centre-half to help strengthen the team’s defence.

The Sky Blues sold Binks to the Danish top flight side at the end of July for a reported £2.5m, just 12 months on from joining the CBS Arena on a permanent deal from Italian side Bologna, following a season-long loan the year before.

Asked how the move came about, whether it was a case of interest from Brondby allied with the fact that the head coach couldn’t guarantee the player as much football as he’d have liked, having been limited to 23 appearances under Lampard last term, the City boss said: “Yeah!
