(Sisseton, SD) — An active shooter scare in Sisseton Thursday morning ends peacefully after a tense standoff. Police from multiple agencies responded to reports of gunfire at the Sisseton/North Housing area, where they say a man fired several shots and hit another man once through a wall. The victim was treated at the scene and is okay. The suspect barricaded himself inside but later surrendered after tribal police negotiate using a P.A. system. Authorities believe he may have been experiencing a mental health crisis and say he’s now receiving care at a local hospital.
