BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Raleigh County man is facing multiple charges following an investigation into a string of phone wire thefts in the area, according to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office launched the investigation after a recent surge in thefts of phone wire from utility poles across the county.

Their efforts led them to Wood’s Recycling in Beaver, where they reviewed receipts from July and early August.

During their visit, an employee provided access to a storeroom, where detectives discovered several hundred pounds of twisted pair phone line stored in 55-gallon barrels.

Receipts found on-site identified Charles Stanley as the seller. His name, identification, and signature appeared on multiple transactions.
