A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he disregarded a traffic signal at an intersection Thursday night in the Hyde Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 10 p.m., the motorcycle was headed west at an intersection in the 5300 block of South Dorchester Avenue when he disregarded a traffic signal and collided with a black sedan headed south, police said.
The victim suffered severe bodily trauma and was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead.
He was identified as Jean Carlos Hernandez of the Kenwood neighborhood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The 20-year-old driver of the sedan and two passengers were listed in good condition, police said.
No citations were given related to the crash, and the Major Accident Investigation Unit was in
