A Melvindale police officer is expected to face misconduct charges stemming from three incidents in the last four years, officials said.
Matthew Furman, 40, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in the 24th District Court in Allen Park, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.
Furman has been charged by the county prosecutor with misconduct in office, a five-year felony; felonious assault, a four-year felony; and assault, a 93-day misdemeanor.
"It is important to remember that the majority of our police officers are bravely placing their lives on the line every day and proudly serving with the utmost integrity," Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement. "The alleged behavior of this officer is criminal and does a disservice to the men and women who have taken an oath to pr
