More than 100 Orange marches took place last year in Glasgow as loyal parades make up more than half of all the 240 processions in the city.

Between April 2024 and March this year the council was notified of 118 Orange Order walks, 25 Apprentice Boys of Derry parades, 10 Black Institute processions and five Republican marches.

There were two procession notifications to the council from trade unions, 12 from bands, one for a funeral and 67 classed as 'other.'

The council said although most processions don't bring problems there can be complaints about behaviour and disruption caused to transport and businesses.

Organisers of processions must let the council know 28 days before they are due to take place.
