COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a Battle Creek man was taken into custody after allegedly stealing someone's bicycle Friday morning in Comstock Township.

Around 6:30 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Gull Road and Sprinkle Road for a report of an armed robbery, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office.

According to deputies, the victim said they were approached by a man who implied he had a gun, "forcefully took" the victim's bicycle and then headed west.

Kalamazoo Township police officers tracked down the suspect in the area of Gull Road and Nazareth Road, according to the sheriff's office. Authorities took the man into custody. In the process, deputies say he discarded a gun, which was recovered on scene.
