SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Holmes Beach is the second city in Manatee County to have operating school speed zone cameras ready for the 2025-2026 school year.
Bradenton is another city that does.
The speed cameras will be operating at Anna Maria Island Elementary School before and after school for student pick-up and drop-off.
Chief William Tokajer said the city implemented the speed cameras because people have been caught going well beyond the city’s max speed limit of 25 mph and the school speed zone of 15 mph.
