Aug. 7, marked 10 years since Lara Sobel, a family services worker for the Department for Children and Families, was killed in the line of duty in Barre City.

Sobel was leaving her office when she was shot and killed by Jody Herring. Herring also fatally shot her two cousins, Regina Herring, 43, and Rhonda Herring, 48, and her aunt, Julie Falzarano, 73, at their Berlin home prior to killing Sobel.
