BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Pickleball is a growing sport across the nation. Growing so fast that it's earned its own day!
Aug. 8 is National Pickleball Day, and this year it falls on a Friday.
USA Pickleball reports that the sport was invented in 1965 by three dads: Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum. The Bell family was visiting the Pritchard family and created a game using ping pong paddles, plastic balls and a badminton court. By 1972, USA Pickleball was created.

The Beach Fitness Club
The Beach Fitness Club has four concrete outdoor courts with permanent nets and lines. Guests can r
