BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- A Baton Rouge construction company plans to invest $1.9 million for an expansion project at its Livingston Parish facility.

According to the Louisiana Economic Development, PALA Interstate LLC will be building a new 6,000-square-foot paint and blasting shop at the ASME facility. The investment includes buying new equipment.

Fourteen direct new jobs are expected to be created, and 35 current positions will be retained. The project is estimated to bring 26 new indirect jobs.

“We’re proud to see PALA continue to grow right here in Livingston Parish. This expansion means more than just job creation, it’s a signal of confidence in our workforce, our infrastructure, and our future," Parish President Randy Delatte said.
