A cruise passenger was injured when a glass water slide shattered while they were riding it aboard Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas .

"Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide," Royal Caribbean said in a statement. "The guest is being treated for his injuries."

Officials did not disclose the severity of the injuries.

Royal Caribbean said that the water slide will remain closed for the remainder of the sailing as it continues to investigate the incident.

Icon of the Seas departed from PortMiami on Aug. 2 with scheduled stops in the Netherland Antilles, U.S. Virgin Islands and Bahamas, according to CruiseMapper . It is scheduled to return to Miami on Saturday before embarking on another trip.
