CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — The West Virginia Public Service Commission has endorsed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s plans to roll back regulations on greenhouse gases.
In a 15-page letter to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, the PSC praised the agency’s plans to rescind a number of existing rules for power plants, gas turbines and other related standards.
The EPA recently announced it would begin the process of rescinding what is known as the “endangerment finding.”
The scientific finding, which states greenhouse gases pose a threat to public health and welfare, has served as the legal basis for a wide range of environmental regulations, including limits on emissions from automobiles, power plants and heavy industry.
The PSC said it supports the repeal of a 2015 rule regardin
