Belleville Police responded to 219 calls for service over a 48-hour period beginning at 5 a.m. on August 6th to 5 a.m. on August 8th.

Assault

On August 6th at approximately 1 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female who reported that she had been physically assaulted by a male who then fled the scene. Officers also learned that the male suspect was in violation of a release order by communicating with the female. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with: Assault; Failure to comply with release order X2; Forcible confinement.

He was held for a bail hearing.
