Tens of thousands of volunteers will be needed for the 2026 FIFA World Cup across 16 host cities, and thousands of those will be needed specifically in North Texas. Now is the time to get in the virtual line.

People who are interested can currently fill out the interest form that is open online.

Official applications open on Monday, August 11, and will run through October.

October through December will be group recruitment and volunteer team tryouts. Volunteer offers will be put out from January through February 2026. The volunteer spots will be available from everything from media assistance to fan festivities.

NBC 5 talked with a local educator who was a volunteer for the last World Cup held in Dallas back in 1994. She called it one of the greatest experiences of her life.
