Two Alabama television stations have changed hands as a result of a $171 million telecommunications deal.

Huntsville’s WAAY and Montgomery’s WCOV are part of a 10-station deal, according to a press release .

Allen Media Group sold the stations to Gray Media, which has a station portfolio of about 180 local stations in 113 markets.

The deal also includes WSIL in Paducah, Ky.-Cape Girardeau, Mo.-Harrisburg, Ky.; WEVV in Evansville, Ind.; WFFT in Ft. Wayne, Ind.; KADN in Lafayette, La.; WTVA in Columbus-Tupelo, Miss.; WREX in Rockford, Ill.; WTHA in Terra Haute, Ind., and WLFA in West Lafayette, Ind..

The deal should close in the fourth quarter of this year, pending FCC approvals.
