For the third week in a row, Dexter: Resurrection is firing on all cylinders — and I think the writers are taking my notes into account! Okay, yes, this episode was completed long before my complaint last week that Blessing and his family mostly exist as a constant reminder of Dexter’s own fractured family, but we did get more from them in “Cats & Mouse,” albeit under some sad circumstances. We open with Blessing telling Dexter that his mother, Prudence, has died, to which Dexter responds, “Death comes for us all.” (Was “I’m sorry for your loss” not an option?) Despite the fact that these men have only known each other for a few weeks, Dex is naturally on the guest list for the wake, which will require him to wear something nicer than the black hoodie he has planned.
