CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Mount Pleasant Police Department announced that it has pressed charges against a woman they say shot a man in the head while he was lying in bed.
Patience Renee Spinler, 30, is charged with murder.
These charges are connected to a July 19 killing.
At around 8:05 a.m. that day, police responded to a 911 call for a victim who had been shot on Calais Drive.
When they arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS took the man to MUSC, but he later died.
Police say they found a weapon on the scene.
After what officers say was an extensive investigation, police concluded that Spinler had shot the man while he was in bed and then ran away from the scene.
