GREENSBORO, N.C. — Broadway and screen actor David Furr, known for his role in HBO’s The Gilded Age , will return to his hometown to teach at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro , the school announced.
Furr, a Greensboro native, earned his Master of Fine Arts from the Alabama Shakespeare Festival/University of Alabama Professional Actor Training Program and a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on film and theatre from Appalachian State University.
His career includes performances on Broadway, Off-Broadway, at major regional theaters, and in film and television. Furr has received Tony, Drama Desk, Ovation, and Henry Award nominations, and won the 2012 St. Clair Bayfield Award for Shakespearean acting in the New York metropolitan area for his work in
