POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Mason County Chief Deputy Chris Zerkle said a man has been charged after destroying Point Pleasant’s City Hall and damaging the Point Pleasant Police Department building.
He said two Mason County deputies saw that the Point Pleasant Police Department appeared to be ransacked and smoking around 7 a.m. this morning.
Keith Burns, 28, was hiding in the police department’s office when officers found him, according to Deputy Zerkle.
Burns was looking for ammunition and a gun, he said.
Deputy Zerkle said Burns had made entry on top of the roof of the office and fell into the police department’s concrete.
The Point Pleasant Police Chief said there was minimal damage to their office.
Burns was charged with felony breaking and entry and arson in the second degree
