BRAXTON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A couple was charged with multiple felony counts of child neglect in Braxton County, according to West Virginia State Police.

On Aug. 7, troopers from the Sutton Detachment of the WVSP were alerted to an anonymous letter sent to Braxton County Circuit Judge Michael Asbury, which alleged that several children were living in unsafe conditions and suffering from neglect, WVSP said.

Troopers immediately began an investigation, which led them to a residence in the Erbacon community of Braxton County.

Mary Bragg, 51, and James Bragg, 58, were both under the influence of controlled substances and had been keeping two juvenile children in unkept conditions, with excessive trash and cockroach infestations throughout the home, according to police.
