A 70-year-old man who was found unresponsive in an apartment complex swimming pool Thursday night has died, officials said.

According to the Wixom Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Bristol Square Apartments on Beck Road near Pontiac Trial at around 7:30 p.m. after it was reported an unresponsive person was in the bottom of the pool.

Officers, along with a crew from the Wixom Fire Department, began life-saving measures before the man was transported to Henry Ford Provident Novi Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

There has been no information released yet on cause and manner of death, and the man’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
