Portions of Dothan’s popular Forever Wild trails will close at 6 a.m. on Aug. 11 so workers can make upgrades to the trails and boardwalks.Those who are looking to get some exercise and fresh air will have to remove one the local walking trails off of their list for possibly up to two months.

The closure will likely last 30 days; depending on weather, the estimate could be as much as 60 days, according Dothan Leisure Services Director Billy Powell. The temporary closure affects Connector B (500s boardwalk) and areas around markers 500, 510, and 520.

The closure will also limit access to the following trail sections from the North and West Trailheads: 600s Zion Cemetery Ridge, 700s Big Levee, Big Levee Advanced, 800s/S.A.M.’s Creekside Trail.
