An Atlantic City man who allegedly shot and killed the son of a city councilwoman outside a motel last week was ordered held in jail until trial Friday after his attorney consented to his detention.

Lamar M. Johnson, 26, who also goes by Sheldon Ward, is charged with murder, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Kendell Roseborough.

Roseborough was the son of 2nd Ward Councilwoman LaToya Dunston.
