YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A man who pleaded guilty in June to having a gun while running from a stolen car will spend 30 days in jail as part of his probation.
Denzel Jarrett, 20, was sentenced to three years of probation overall by Judge Maureen Sweeney on charges of receiving stolen property and carrying a concealed weapon, both fourth-degree felonies, and obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony.
The sentence was recommended by the attorneys in the case and adopted by Judge Sweeney.
The charge stems from an Oct. 20 arrest by Youngstown police who were called about 4:05 p.m. to the 200 block of Broadway Avenue for a report of a car behind an abandoned house. As officers arrived, three men ran from the car. Police initially chased them but lost them, reports said.
